When it comes to preparing for your horse's portraits the amount of preparation is completely up to you, but there are several suggestions because a camera sees everything. I say clean your horse up as if you were walking into the most important class of your life!
Lauren switched barns to start riding with Hillary Ridland at Blenheim EquiSports International which is where she met her sweet boy Darco. I sometimes feel like I did an injustice to just how cute Darco’s face is! He has the sweetest personality which matches so well with Lauren!
Its always so nice when you get a fellow artist as a client! Lauren photographs for fun and already knows how to OWN IT in front of a camera! By the end of our session, I was like, “Girl, just go do all the model things!"
My description when I delivered their gallery was simply “I love it when they call me big Papa”
Kristy of Black Star Equestrian is one of those people that I’m seriously so sad I just missed. A former trainer at HCPEC she moved her business down to Temecula as she builds up her own property in the beautiful Murrieta horse country.
So I came to this session already SOLD that it was going to be one for the books. A lot had to do with the fact that I knew Brianna was going to be my kinda girl!
Brianna and her mom volunteered at the rescue where they adopted her boy King from 5 years ago after he was started none other than Kim at Forhman Performance horses, who I ride for today! Talk about coming full circle! They're now nestled in one of the many beautiful homes in Orange Park Acres! I love coming back to OPA (not only cause I go lottery house shopping in my head) because most of the houses sit behind a mountain which makes for the perfect sunsets!
TRUTH: When I moved to Huntington Beach I was absolutely terrified of how I was going to ride. I knew the barns in Orange County fairly well as my client base in the area continued to grow. However, they were all English barns and I had thrown out my tall boots long ago when I realized jumping was just not my thang!
