The Horse That Made Me a Photographer

The Horse That Made Me a Photographer

Thirteen years ago I fell in love with a long-legged, goofy, and slightly uncontrollable 5 year old Thoroughbred they now call Marco “The Lion Man.” Although EXTREMELY terrified of this 16.2 hand giant that could run as fast at those wobbly legs would carry him, I knew I had one hell of an adventure on my hands as we became inseparable. I was eventually able to call him my very own after 3 years. Over the years as our partnership excelled in the arena and our bond grew stronger each and every day, I realized all I wanted to do was share mine and Marco’s story with those who mattered the most to me. I quickly became known as the girl at the barn with the camera and the rest of the story is history!

My Letter to the Universe 2018

My Letter to the Universe 2018

Back when the tumblr blogging days were a thing on that hipster social media lifestyle... I'd write a letter to Universe every single year.

2018 WAS THE YEAR OF THE RAT RACE and I learned a lot!

I honestly couldn’t tell you what was right, left, up or down. I put over 20,000 miles on my car, took some flights, shot my first

Happy 1 Year to US!

Happy 1 Year to US!

October 15th 2016 I decided to rebrand and revamp my business and started offering mini sessions for just $50 dollars.

October 27th 2017 I left my job, October 28th I sold my horse, and October 29th I moved down to Huntington Beach to start my journey as a full time photographer

Here we are October 30th 2018 to mark 1 year of being a full time photographer. It has been the hardest and most rewarding year of my life. My heart is so full and I am ever so grateful to everyone that has believed in me and allowed me to pursue my biggest goals and biggest dreams.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary

Thank you for being my person. Thank you for being the person who (literally) pushes me to go after my dreams. Thank you for spending hours researching ways to make my business better. Thank you for holding me when I randomly start crying about selling Sawyer. Thank you for still saying I’m beautiful when I’ve been editing for three days straight and look like a loch ness monster. Thank you for forcing me to go on walks so I get out of the house. Thank you for waking me up and putting me to bed when I fall asleep in my office chair. Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me, inspiring me, and loving me every day.

We Got Bikes

We Got Bikes

This year for Christmas, Nick's family went in together to buy us beach cruisers. They are beautiful, amazing, comfy, and those bikes you look at going "these are going to outlive me." We went on our first bike ride with them this past weekend and for the first time in months, I actually felt like one of those perfect pictures you see on Instagram.

Light, Candid, and a Whole lot of Fun

Light, Candid, and a Whole lot of Fun

This year with me diving head first into this entrepreneurial journey, I decided to dive head-on into a marketing and branding course for photographers. Part of the process is for us to assess our businesses and help brand and define the work that we created using three words. My words took me a while to figure out, my two favorite services are so completely different besides the fact that they have pretty ponies in them!

My Letter to the Universe

Back when the tumblr blogging days were a thing on that hipster social media lifestyle... I'd write a letter to Universe every single year.

2017 was a year of change and its weird to say I knew going into it.

I had no idea that avenue would look like Nick interviewing with a company in Orange County and moving to Huntington Beach. I had no idea that it looked like picking up my camera again to help pass the long weeks of being in a long distance relationship. I had no idea I would listen to the Goal Digger Podcast and say "If she can do it, why can't I?" I didn't know I would have a dream that was within arms reach if I would just chase it.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope that this holiday season leaves you in a warm home surrounded by family, friends, endless cups of coffee, and the glow of lights. This year has been one of the most challenging and rewarding years of my life, I wasn't nearly ready for all it had to offer! I'm lucky to say we are coming out even more alive and blessed than when we entered it. With countless stories told, tons of ponies nose's played with, a million miles traveled, loads of stunning images, and people like you who have shared in our story…. this was without a doubt, the best year ever.

7 Things I Learned Working for Myself

7 Things I Learned Working for Myself

When I left the hustle and bustle of working in a car garage around a bunch of guys all day, I remember thinking a lot of things. I thought I was going to have more time to do the things I wanted to do, I said I was going to have time to go run on the beach, and have brunch with my friends. I thought I would have WAY more time to be riding too!

NOPE

I WAS CALLED CLASSLESS, WINEY, AND INSECURE and guess what? I simply gave myself a heavier pour of wine and then cuddled up to the man that has my whole heart and told me I was perfect to him.
This isn’t a way to prove that words don’t hurt, even that I’m giving people the satisfaction to know their opinions were heard and affected how much wine went into my glass that night or play victim, but a little reminder and motivation to anyone who dreams of making a difference in the world; don’t give up.
